What is "freshmans"? At Metro we cater for and encourage riders and mounts of all ages, abilities and experience. On the second Sunday of every month of the year, we hold a freshmans day. This is a training day for riders, to ride a competition-standard course at the height they choose, to school their horse, themselves, or both. You are welcome to have your coach or mentor assist you in the ring as you ride the course. Metro Showjumping has the longest history of running regular freshmans days The Metro committee (and any other volunteers) will have ready for you a showjumping course starting at approximately 45cm at 9am. The height is raised by one hole (approx 10cm) once everyone has had their round. There is no limit to the height we can get to. You can do up to two rounds at each height (three if numbers are small) - and of course we expect that you would only do the number of rounds that your horse is fit enough to comfortably do on that day. EFA, Pony Club and Riding Club members must produce proof of current membership. Riders without any memberships will need to pay insurance for the day. Discounted rates for Metro members.
Fee Structure Please contact us for details on current costs. ALL RIDERS AND GUARDIANS MUST SIGN A DISCLAIMER FOR INSURANCE 9am start - see you there!! |
